Birthday Celebration

Wednesday was my Birthday. I turned 3 years old. Buster and I got to celebrate by going to the doggie spa. We had baths, got our nails done and were sent home with these really cool bandanna necklaces.

Then we had a nap in the sun. Mommy took off our necklaces because she is afraid we would get stuck on something.

Then Buster sang me Happy Birthday.

It was a very special day.

Off the top of my head

Hi Furends,

I am going to give an off the top of my head update on my life happenings in no particular order.

  • As you know, the mommy and I are on a diet. The Mommy is down 10 lbs. I am up and down each week. Currently weighing in at 25.2 lbs. The Mommy has been pretty good at following her menu plan. I eat whatever I can as fast as I can. This week I was able to steal the littles waffles and give the old brown eyes to the daddy for some pork loin. Not to mention all the treats and bones I get when the Mommy is at work. The Mommy continues to buy the diet food with the hopes I will actually shed a lb or 2.

  • Buster and I have built a pretty good friendship. I am like the older sister. When he barks, I run over like the older pug to handle the problem. But the problem is Buster barks at EVERYTHING. He barks so much the hoomans go crazy. He barks at the cats which bothers the Mommy and he barks at the littles which bothers EVERYONE. He is all bark and no bite though so nothing to fear, just plug your ears.

  • The snow. The snow is EVERYWHERE and never goes away. I don't mind it so much but Buster is afraid to leave the deck. Which is pretty sloppy if you know what I mean. Also, all that snow = no sidewalks and therefore, no walks for Rosie :(

  • Cats. The cats and I are slowly becoming less friendly. It must be because Buster and I made this Pug alliance and he barks at them all the time so that makes me on his side. I don't mind it that much though chasing them is a little fun (who said that??).

  • Finally, sleeping arrangements. I used to be the only one to Velcro to the Mommy but Buster being the baby is ALWAYS on her Lap and has to sleep attached to her hip so I just moved down to her leg at night and squeeze on the lap during TV time. I am a good sharer.

P.S. I really need to get some Buster pictures on this blog. Coming soon...

We are Going Down Down Down Down Down

This week's weigh In: 24.6. I am down .8 from last week.

Plus, the Mommy lost another pound. Down 6 total in two weeks.

We are on a mission for 2011.

Other than diet, we have been taking our walks.

Buster and I have made a pact to antagonize the cats as much as possible and have been doing a great job. The hoomans are not so happy about this pact but, Buster and I think it is great. Whenever one of us sees a cat on the floor they are free game to bark and chase and the cats go running like crazy (he he). I know we should be nice this time of year but, we just can't resist the chase - and those cats are soooo fun to chase.

Hope you are all getting ready for Santa paws!
Sure hope Buster and I don't get any coal maybe we should layoff until after the New Year - hmmm Nah!

Who knocked the cookie box on the floor?

Rosie knocked the cookie box on the floor.
Who Me?
Yes You.
Couldn't be.
Then who?

Buster knocked the cookie box on the floor.
Who Me?
Yes You.
Couldn't Be.
than who?

One of the cats knocked the cookie box on the floor.
Who Us?
Yes You.
Why would we? when the dogs ate all the cookies!!

Good Point!
We need a Cookie Cam. There goes the diet.

Weigh In and Buster Update

Well, I got weighed last night. It was good but, all of the Turkey day damage is not gone yet.

This week weigh in: 25.4 lbs.

Down from last week (26 lbs.) but still not back to my weight loss of before the holiday.
The mommy gets weighed tomorrow so we will post on that another day.

Buster Update: He is doing good. Him and I play a lot. He is always in play mode and I have to remind him that pugs are suppose to rest during the day!!
He also snores like a freight train which has woken the mommy up a few times. We thought daddy was bad - no way - Buster Boy can snore with the best of them!!
Another thing about Buster is his tongue is bigger than his mouth and it always hangs out a tiny bit - the mommy says its cute - but I am not so sure.
Other than those few nit picky things, he is pretty nice to have around and the hoomans really like him too! Him and I are like bosom buddies and pretty much do everything together!

Well, Hope you are all getting your pawsents purchased for the howldays!

Getting Back On Track

Well with Buster's arrival and the Thanksgiving Holiday my diet went out the window.

Things are now settled down and I am getting back on track. I am going to pretend the last 2 weeks did not happen and start again today. My next weigh in will be in 1 week and I will see where I stand. The mommy is also starting a diet so I may report on her success as well.

Buster is doing great and is a perfect fit for our family. Him and I hang out all the time and play. The mommy says he has a lot of good habits that I should pick up. Not sure what she is talking about. (She says he walks nicer on the leash and that I pull too much.)

Although he does bark a lot at the cats which has Gabby having a heart attack. He is very friendly and I think just wants to play with them. He follows the mommy everywhere and likes to sit on her lap - so now we both do that.

I do think having a brother around is going to be great.

Adjusting

Hi Furends,

I am not sure where to start. Things have definitely changed in my house by having a brother around. At first, I was shocked to meet Buster and was not sure why he was in my yard.

I checked him out closely to see who he was and reported my findings to Jet who waited on the inside.

I had to double check my findings.

Then decided I would give him a go and race him around the yard.

When we went inside he started chewing on my bone.

I am starting to wonder if this is how things are going to be from now on.
I am not an only pug anymore. It takes a getting used to!

Buster's Arrival

The hoomans were up before the sun. They travelled an hour north to meet the transport. Seven other dogs new families were there waiting too. The transport was running late and everyone's excitement was growing. Finally, they could see the big truck coming up the road.
Amazing the dogs were stacked 3 high in that trailer. Buster was on the tippy top.

The dogs were barking all wondering if it was their time to get out. The workers took each dog out one by one and handed them off to their new families. My family went up when it was their turn and they handed them Buster. He was so cute - said the Mommy and the littles were so happy.

They came home and introduced me and Buster in the yard. We ran around a lot and sniffed each other.

I can see us becoming fast friends.

I will tell you about our first days together in the next post.

Buster is Coming - Buster is Coming

I have the most exciting news. Yep - This is my New Brother - Buster.

Buster is 2 years old - just like me :) and he is coming to live with me this Saturday. YIPPEE! He has a long way to travel to get here. He is starting his trip Thursday morning leaving his foster home in Arkansas and spending the night in Tennessee. Then he boards the transport with all the other rescue doggies and travels up the coast to Maryland, Pennsylvania and then to my state New Jersey. The transport will keep going to deliver all the other doggies all the way up to Massachusetts. I am glad he is getting off early because then I will have all day to play with him and show him around the house. We even got him a new bed, harness and some toys. We are so excited that he is coming to live with us and he will be my buddy for ever and ever.
I will let you all know how things are going after he gets here and tell you all about his exciting adventure (after he tells me of course).

Also, don't forget about the weigh in Friday November 19, 2010. Diet food and green beans. I sure hope Buster likes green beans.
